Believe it or not, I was super shy when I was a kid. My mom had mental illness so we always made sure she was ok. That meant, me not speaking up and having my “Own Voice.” Singing helped me find confidence and unlock my authentic voice ie. express my needs and feelings to others without fear and anxiety.

When I first started singing, I wasn’t sure if I was singing totally correctly or liked the way I sounded. I wasn’t sure how to support my air, project my sound, and sing higher notes. I definitely didn’t know I could even mix my lower notes with my head voice. I just sang in my head voice most of the time due to my strong classical training. But I realized later, I wasn’t accessing my full vocal range or potential. Neither was I singing from my heart. I was just singing to sound like others.

After discovering jazz, I learned to really find my own style and explore my full voice. Now I help singers like you who went through similar challenges as me through my online and live group coaching calls.
