Meet Your Teacher
I’m Joann Chang, a singer, songwriter, vocal instructor, and performing artist passionate about guiding singers to discover their authentic voice. My journey began early, singing Mandarin pop songs with my mom, which sparked a lifelong love for music. Despite facing personal challenges, including my mom’s mental illness, singing became my refuge and a powerful way to express myself.
After the loss of my father, songwriting helped me process grief and deepen my spiritual connection. Music became my healing tool, and performing *in gospel choir” in church and leading worship gave me strength, which I now share with others.
With a background in classical training and a love for blues, jazz, and opera, I help students overcome vocal challenges and build confidence. Whether you’re working on technique, musical theater stage presence, or preparing for performances, I offer personalized coaching tailored to your goals. As a vocal coach, I’m here to help you discover your potential and sing with authenticity.
